Ashley grew up in Upstate, NY and followed her dreams to pursue a graduate degree in Boston, MA. In the midst of her studies, she found stress relief and her outlet with beat-based riding. Eight years later, she turned what became a passion into a career. Upon moving back to Rochester, NY, she decided to take a leap of faith, follow her dreams, and open Spoke Cycle and Fitness. Ashley describes her classes as a little bit of everything — fun, intentional, and of course, sweaty. Maybe a few swear words too!
Spirit Animal: Panther. Why? These animals are strong, sleek, and quick to make decisions; but beautiful at the same time. She believes every woman has the same inner and outer beauty and fierceness of a panther.

Meet Kyra. Kyra has been in the accounting field for (gulp, her words, not ours, haha!) 17 years. With that, she has been able to dive into the human resources arena (you know the New York State labor laws and business laws stuff that excites her, while it makes the rest of us all want to get in the fetal position and cry ourselves to sleep? Yeah, that stuff) for almost 10 of those years as well. Since graduating with her Master’s degree in Accounting she has had the opportunity to work in both the private and public sectors in industries to include manufacturing, banking, technology, higher education, construction, property management, and most recently engineering. She’s a wife, a mom (so that automatically makes her an Uber driver living someone else’s life who is a fraction of her age, but she cherishes every single moment knowing this won’t last forever), a grandmother (you read that right) and a friend who loves to cook, travel, read, exercise (it’s new, she’s not sure how long the love affair will last), spend time on Canandaigua Lake and belly laugh with her girlfriends. With that full plate, she still managed to find time a few years back to teach women in Burlington, VT who had a dream of opening their own businesses. In the three cohorts that she led with two other (now) friends, class sizes ranged from 10-25 women who all had the same ultimate dream, just in different capacities. Kyra led the finance piece of the 16-18 week course that focused on how to write their bank-ready business plans and to truly understand their financials and what their numbers meant to their individual business. This was to not only ensure business success but financial success as well. She proudly saw them to the finish line of the course, but more importantly (for some) to the starting line of opening their now successful businesses in Vermont!

She’s the host of Fill My Cup podcast, owner of Awe & Wonder Balloons, and well loved community leader. Above all, Amanda’s greatest purpose is to her family. She has been married for 16 years to her husband David, and is a mother to three amazing children.

I am a Financial Planner, Fairport Mom and local business owner. I think it’s important to transform the notion of transactions in our client relationships. Of course, the business and financial aspect of what we do is huge—and that includes net worth, estate planning, taxes, etc. But we can uncover better planning strategies when we take the time to listen and really get to know your personal story, rather than trying to fit you into a product or service or plan that we’ve already created. I started in the advisory space nine years ago and worked my way from the ground up. This helped me realize the importance of client relationships and working together. My proudest moments are when clients and the team appreciate the fact that I get done exactly what I say I’m going to do. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from SUNY Oswego. As a woman advisor and business owner I have the opportunity to show my two young daughters what success really means and what work/life balance is all about.

I have had three, no wait, now four distinct careers in my adult life: Graduate and Undergraduate Professor, graphic designer in self-owned small business, team leader in a premium skincare business, and now team leader in a growing clean wellness business—and the last two have been the most satisfying! Of course, I’m mostly a mom of a tween and teen, acting as their unpaid Uber driver, and negotiating whether they’ve completed homework or have just told me they have, really have to stay at school or can take the bus home (it’s always that they have to stay), and chief phone call maker for my husband. My husband works from home, too, so occasionally working from the Hive will give me back a little autonomy. In whatever free time I carve out, I create pottery out of the Turk Hill Craft School and help them a little bit with their kilns. I’ll be doing monthly presentations at The Hive about my wellness company, Shaklee, and anyone is welcome to join us.

As a certified School Counselor with over 30 years of experience, I have helped and learned from thousands of parents and students. I truly feel it is a privilege to provide clarity, simplicity and hope to today’s youth. I enjoy the process of slowing them down and supporting them socially, emotionally and academically. My experience in working alongside this age group has provided me with the knowledge needed to partner with parents, helping both to navigate what can be a tumultuous time in their lives. I hold a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Counseling Education. My journey began at Baker Hall Day Treatment in Buffalo, NY, offering individual and family counseling for children aged 5 to 18. The core of my career unfolded as a dedicated School Counselor in Webster, NY. While serving the Webster community, I actively participated in conferences, in-service training and created impactful support groups centered on anxiety, empowerment and grief. I am a wife and a mother of two adult children, who have since left the nest and who I continue to guide the best that I can, while equally learning from them along the way.

Throughout the process of opening The Hive, Rach has been a real estate sounding board so to speak while I have been navigating all things commercial leasing. Prior to real estate, she has almost a decade of experience in the financial planning industry, coupled with formal education and several professional licenses, she has the know-how to manage money at all life phases. Aside from real estate, Rachel is an amazing mama, wife, lover of dance, and an amazing friend!
